As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for performing software development activities for Airbus nFMS product, specifically in Middleware functionalities including Input/Output, Built-In Test, Operational software, Dual management, boot and platform software, and Thunderbolt platform software and configuration integration activities. The successful candidate will be working with a team to develop complex features in compliance with the nFMS Software multi-platform supporting architecture. We are seeking someone who brings the right experience and expertise to lead the new feature development and integration using novel techniques and generate innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Software design and development of new features and functions.
- Implementation of Software Change Requests
- Assessment of In-Service issues, debug and solve problems
- Lead system requirements decomposition
- Lead software requirements definition
- Lead software and product integration
- Support Verification and Validation team
- Support platform software certification activities
- Strong analytical skills & software development skills
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
- Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering in subjects such as Computer Science, Control Systems, Electrical/Electronic or any such equivalent discipline
- Expert in C/C++ and ADA Software programming language.
- 12+ years of experience in Flight Management System or similar airborne electronic products.
- Experience in developing Middleware and Platform Software solutions for Real Time Embedded Systems.
- Experience in implementing new feature, develop robust software design, expert level debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ownership in integrating and delivering flight critical avionics software with flawless in-service performance.
- Strong background in the design and development of data-driven architectures
WE VALUE
- Expertise in Design and Development of Input/Output function, I/O protocols (A429, A664, AFDX, TFTP) and network/communication stack.
- Experience in Real Time Operating System such as DEOS (A653) and Redundancy Management software
- Significant engineering experience, particularly in Avionics, FMS
- Expertise in processes, standards, and system engineering norms, such as DO 178B/C
- Understanding and experience in developing product for combination of build-time variation and run-time variation for product line development approach
- Experience in developing simulation models for Avionics product line.
- Understanding of layered architecture (e.g. FACE) and experience in development across multiple layers
- Proven ability to lead by influence.
- Experience in representing the product line to various stakeholders and customers from a technological standpoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.
- Possess strong analytical skills & software development skills.
