Training Coordinator (Education)



Title: Training Coordinator

Location:  Remote/Nationwide

Security Clearance: Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI)

Schedule: This is a full-time position that typically works business hours Monday through Friday. Hours may vary depending on needs and may at times include travel, evenings, or weekends to meet specific project requirements or time zones.

Salary Range: $55,000-65,000

Job Summary: 

The Training Coordinator is responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs for the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs). This role supports stakeholders by facilitating educational content related to the NamUs system, forensic resources, and investigative processes. The Training Coordinator also plays a key role in curriculum development, event coordination, and performance reporting. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive training curricula for NamUs users, including law enforcement, medical examiners, coroners, and tribal stakeholders. 
  • Coordinate and deliver virtual and in-person training sessions on NamUs tools and procedures. 
  • Participate in the development of multimedia training materials and documentation. 
  • Track training attendance, participant feedback, and learning outcomes to support continuous improvement. 
  • Collaborate with outreach, forensic, and case management staff to ensure training materials are accurate and aligned with operational needs. 
  • Design tailored training plans to meet the needs of diverse user groups, including law enforcement, medical examiners, coroners, tribal agencies, and family support organizations. 
  • Develop e-learning modules, webinars, and video tutorials to expand the reach of NamUs training offerings. 
  • Maintain training records and certification logs for internal staff and external stakeholders. 
  • Coordinate with the IT team to ensure training aligns with software updates and new system features. 
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using surveys, assessments, and outcome-based performance measures. 
  • Create culturally responsive and accessible training materials to support inclusive engagement across jurisdictions. 
  • Collaborate with communications and marketing staff to promote training events and increase program visibility. 
  • Attend required internal and external training and at least one national in-person user group/professional training meeting per year. 
  • Perform Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in education, criminal justice, forensic science, or related field. 
  • At least 2 years of experience in training, curriculum development, or instructional design. 
  • Experience delivering training to multidisciplinary audiences is preferred 
  • Ability to plan, execute, and evaluate communication strategies that align with national public safety priorities. 
  • Proficiency in producing high-impact digital content, including graphics, videos, and written narratives. 
  • Skilled in platforms such as HubSpot, Tableau, Canva, and major social media management tools. 
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills 
  • Experience with adult learning principles and training evaluation. 
  • Ability to create content in PowerPoint, Word, and learning management systems (LMS). 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills 
  • Familiarity with NamUs or similar case management systems is preferred. 
  • Demonstrates empathy and understanding in engaging families of missing persons and vulnerable populations. 

Clearance: 

  • Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI) required
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Security Requirements/Background Investigation Requirements: 

  • Must be a U.S Citizen
  • Residency requirement - 3 consecutive years in the last 5 years. 
  • Successfully passing a background investigation including drug screening.    

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Alternate Sitting or Standing at Will: The employee has the flexibility to choose between sitting or standing as needed.  
  • Walking/Mobility: Must have mobility to attend meetings.  
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 0% - 10% of the time. 
  • Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 0% - 10% of the time. 
  • Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write type (55 wpm), enter text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard 100% of the time. 
  • Sitting: Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time.
