Sr Director International Tax (Finance)



What you will do:

The Senior Director International Tax is responsible for directing and developing strategies and supporting the business operations to minimize worldwide income tax in collaboration with the Global tax team. They will provide general advice to the business where cross border transactions are present, direct the compliance with transfer pricing regulations across the world and provide leadership and direction over EMEA tax matters.  The successful candidate will work cross-functionally and across regions to support a world-class tax organization, collaborating closely with all tax functions and business unit leaders to support tax strategy, reporting and compliance including researching tax positions, providing tax analysis, involvement in international tax controversy, and monitoring tax law changes. Main areas of responsibility include EMEA region and global tax transfer pricing matters. 

How you will do it:

  • Directs the identification, modeling and execution of various tax planning strategies within the EMEA region and global strategies that involve cross border transactions such as sales of products, licensing of IP, charges for services, etc. to minimize the income tax burden of the Company and support the Company's long term business strategies.

  • Proactively works closely with business leadership in analyzing the tax effect of current or proposed transactions, business realignments, etc. including cross border transactions, acquisitions, and divestitures and facilitates the preparation of intercompany legal agreements that are required to support and facilitate the ever-changing business transactions between the Company's legal entities.

  • Direct and identify key tax strategies related to the EMEA region for all tax matters (direct and indirect).

  • Works closely with the Global Tax Reporting Snr Director to ensure proper and timely financial reporting with respect to all EMEA tax matters and Global transfer pricing, including documentation of return to provision adjustments, uncertain tax positions, etc.  as well as support and analysis of actuals, forecasts, outlooks, etc. in these areas. 

  • Directs all tax reporting and compliance (income and indirect tax) within EMEA with support from the global tax team and outside service providers to ensure accuracy, timeliness, improve efficiency, and the documentation of positions.

  • Provide oversight to corporate tax audits with respect to EMEA tax matters and transfer pricing in cooperation with other key members of the global tax team.

  • Directs, executes, and prepares research and computational analysis related to relevant tax issues.

  • Directly supervises the EMEA tax and global tax transfer pricing teams.

  • Mentors and leads tax department members and teams with other department leaders to maximize employee engagement and provide opportunities for growth.

  • Trains and develops tax department members through coaching and supervision.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with Master's degree, in Accounting/Tax or Law degree preferred.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience with large multinational corporate tax structures or equivalent relevant experience including a mix in either a public accounting, law firm, or corporate tax environment.

  • Minimum 10 years of supervisory and/or management experience.

  • Experience in international tax matters including extensive hands-on experience with global transfer pricing matters

  • Understanding of tax accounting principles US GAAP (ASC 740, ASC 450) and IFRS

  • Strong executive presence and the ability to interface effectively with the C-suite, business leaders, and other key stakeholders

  • Ability to promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing a large and diverse group of resources

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and globally

  • Outstanding project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and improve efficiencies through tools or process improvements

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to review numerical tax analysis and supporting details and to summarize the key elements for upper management
