Senior Accountant, Acquisitions (Government)

Our Senior Accountant, Acquisitions will play a critical role focused on accounting, valuation, financial due diligence, and financial reporting for our acquisitions.

Responsibilities

You Will...

  • Prepare technical acquisition accounting documentation and coordinate with operational accounting teams that record acquisition-related journal entries
  • Support valuation workstreams to support the accounting for closed transactions and monitor trends in valuation results to assess impact on the business
  • Documentation results of analysis to demonstrate the effectiveness of key controls related to business combinations
  • Assess key transaction terms to determine the initial and ongoing accounting for purchase price adjustments, holdbacks, contingent consideration
  • Collaborate with business development and legal teams to perform financial due diligence on potential transactions in pipeline and participate in company-wide due diligence efforts
  • Use data analytics and visualization to create impactful reporting for internal stakeholders on upcoming and closed transactions
  • Contribute to the accounting policy harmonization for acquired companies
  • Support SEC reporting process, particularly related to goodwill, intangible assets, and other acquisition accounting topics
  • Support assessment and accounting for divestitures

The Senior Accountant, Acquisitions role could have opportunities to move up within External Reporting, move to an Operational Accounting role, and/or move into the Finance organization within Rollins or its brands.

Qualifications

The Experience You Will Bring (Minimum Requirements):

  • BS/BA/MS degree in accounting or related field
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience (public accounting required – Big 4 experience preferred)
  • CPA license required
  • Prior experience accounting for acquisitions, reviewing valuations, or performing financial due diligence
  • Good understanding of US GAAP and competency in preparing financial statement schedules and performing financial statement analysis
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively operate in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Alteryx, Power BI)
  • Understanding of internal controls framework
  • Ability to listen to the needs of stakeholders, articulate issues in a clear and simplified manner, present findings

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Big 4 accounting experience
  • Experience with SEC reporting requirements
  • Acquisition integration project experience
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and creating impactful, analytical summaries

Physical Demands / Working Environment:

  • We require the ability to pass a drug screen and background checks.  Candidates must have the ability to perform the requirements of the job with or without accommodations. 
  • Must be local to the Atlanta metro area or willing to self-relocate to the area
