General Overview: Program and perform mechanical inspection and defect analysis of parts using Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM). Use of mathematics including, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, simple use of diagrams and blueprint reading, checking or records, forms and comparable data, where interpretation is required. Essential Elements: • Perform mechanical inspection at any point during the manufacturing process (including incoming process, component fabrication, CNC, and final QC) for conformance to specifications and visual requirements following standard methods and procedures. • Work with supervision and/or engineering on analytical or developmental jobs. • Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). • Develop measurement programs from CAD, DXE files. • Set up SPC data files and reports as required by customers. • Participate in training and re-certification of co-workers. • Perform and maintain calibration of Aegis tools, equipment, and precision measuring instruments. • Work from flowsheet folder, blueprint specifications, process sheets, written and/or verbal instructions. • Use comparator, microscope, precision measuring instruments, forms and related equipment and materials. • Complete required sheets and forms, maintaining necessary records or audits, dates inspector involved, acceptance or rejection and reasons, etc. • Move materials as necessary in performance of duties. • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to group leader or supervisor.
