Community Engagement Specialist (Personal Services)

Our Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for working with the Community and Business Development Manager to ensure objectives are met that target overall brand reputation by developing and promoting the mission and value of Blue Federal Credit Union in the communities we serve. Works with the Community and Business Development Manager to create interactive brand experiences for our members and potential members that consistently deliver results. Leads sponsorship requests by making sure everything is tracked in Kadience. Co-leads and supports community engagement efforts to spread awareness on products, services, promotions, passions, and causes. Will be the main internal credit union employee supporting the administrative needs of the Blue Foundation by facilitating Foundation processes and procedures.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate various aspects of Credit Union sponsorship planning, working independently and directly with the Community and Business Development Manager for all community giving requests coming into the credit union. This includes but is not limited to, collaboration with subcontractors, venue identification, printing and design of materials, communication, as well as fiscal reporting. The community giving aspect of the credit union will be managed. Responsible for reviewing CU proposal forms from submitted and requested sponsorships for selected territories. Lastly, this position ensures timely payment and recording of approved grants/sponsorships and donations.
  • Support business and community relations efforts. Independently represents and acts as a liaison between the CU and the local communities to support Blue's initiatives. This will be done to enhance existing relationships with key stakeholders throughout the Blue geographic footprint, with a primary focus on supporting events in Wyoming. This requires effective time management with local travel, budgeting, and schedule flexibility.
  • Assist the Community and Business Development Manager with Foundation-specific outreach activities. Track, gather, and communicate the Foundation donation and grant requests in a timely manner, make sure all requests are notified of the status, and coordinate event logistics as needed.
  • Manage ticket distribution for the 5 anchor partnerships, which are spread across Wyoming and Colorado.
  • Support the Community and Business Development Manager with execution of deliverables, community engagement model, and ROI (return on investment). Create informative and persuasive presentations to management, staff, established and prospective members, and outside organizations. Communicate and discuss complex ideas.
  • Lead and support the majority of the Blue Prime Time program and outreach efforts.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience

A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

A high school degree or equivalent

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

FULL TIME POSITION

Starting Range: $22.15 - $24.79

Full Range: $21.10 - $31.65

Physical Requirements

Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
