Senior Accounting Manager (Project Management)

Our Corporate Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for preparation of judgmental estimates, monthly close including journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting. Position involves prioritizing multiple responsibilities, working independently, and effectively communicating with all levels of staff and management within the organization.

Responsibilities

You Will . . .

  • Develop, drive and implement business processes
  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing / approving journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company
  • policies and procedures are followed
  • Ensure accounting is in accordance with US GAAP
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and controls are followed
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses - Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports
  • Manage Aviation Accounting, Related Party accounting and reporting
  • Prepare judgmental estimates for Litigation, CECL, Environmental, Casualty and others as requested
  • Review Master Cash month end process and accounting
  • Completion of monthly Corporate income statement analytics
  • Able to lead processes and make independent decisions based on policy guidance

Qualifications

The Experience You Will Bring (Minimum Requirements):

  • Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field
  • 7-10 years of Progressive large public accounting and/or public company experience
  • 3 years of Supervisory experience, managing people
  • CPA (Cert Public Accountant)
  • Intermediate Excel skills to include pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF and charts
  • Proficient in US GAAP in judgmental areas
  • Required knowledge of applications related to finance and accounting.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong management skills with demonstrated ability to play a key role in developing and implementing new financial process improvements.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Masters or better in Accounting or related field.
