New Product Development - Quality Engineer (Architecture)

The Opportunity
As our Product Quality Engineer, you'll be at the intersection of innovation and compliance, ensuring our products not only meet but exceed industry standards. This role offers the perfect blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and strategic thinking.

What You'll Do

  • Drive Product Excellence - Develop and implement quality protocols that ensure consistent, high-performing hardware products
  • Lead New Product Development - Serve as the quality cornerstone on NPD teams, establishing test procedures and compliance pathways
  • Champion Industry Standards - Apply your expertise in ANSI/BHMA, ASTM, UL, and building code requirements to guarantee product compliance
  • Build Quality Culture - Collaborate across departments to foster commitments to quality at all levels
  • Optimize Packaging Systems - Ensure packaging meets ISTA/ASTM standards while balancing protection, sustainability, and regulatory requirements
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues during product development and production ramp up stages.
  • Create and implement standardized processes for First Article Inspection (FAI) and approvals to ensure consistency and compliance across suppliers and product categories.
  • Support supplier onboarding and qualification through audits, sample reviews and capability assessments

 

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of quality engineering experience, preferably in building products or hardware
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality mgmt.. systems and improvement methodologies
  • Practical understanding of industry standards (ANSI/BHMA, ASTM, UL) and building codes
  • Experience with testing equipment, measurement systems, and statistical analysis
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication abilities to influence across all organizational levels

What Sets You Apart

  • Professional certifications (CQE, CQA, Six Sigma)
    Experience with product safety certification processes (UL, ETL, CSA)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with CAD software and design review processes

Salary Range: $90,000 - $113,000 annually
