Value Delivery Project Specialist - Remote (Finance)



Job Overview:

The Value Delivery Project Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of small to mid-sized projects throughout the project lifecycle related to creating business value. This role defines project tasks and deadlines, along with conducting analysis around small budgets. It oversees interdepartmental project team members completing assigned projects on time and outlining requirements with accuracy and efficiency, and supports larger value delivery initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creates, manages, and delegates small to midsize projects through all phases of planning, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Oversees interdepartmental project team members to complete assigned projects on time.
  • Creates communication on project status, project risks, issues or questions to project team or business stakeholders.
  • Performs data and timeline audits with Project Team members to ensure successful project compliance measurement.
  • Supports various project workstreams for the value delivery team.
  • Builds content for monthly committee meetings and leadership updates.

Additional Responsibilities: Project Administration
  • Schedules project-related meetings or coordinates calendars across teams as requested or assigned by Project Managers and other dotted-line leaders.
  • Reconciles project budgets and updates appropriate documentation to ensure appropriate tracking.
  • Creates and tracks required project status and related metrics.
  • Assists in studying or discovering project needs from budget to project creation through other internal teams or other project teams.
  • Provides full support to project managers and project leaders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, Project Management, or a combination of relevant experience and education.

Experience:
  • 2-4 years of experience in project management, coordination, or other relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in report building and analysis, KPI tracking relevant to business value or other business metrics.
  • 1-3 years of experience in running small to medium-scale projects.
  • Experience working in project management software and tracking.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter who can work within a changing environment.
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Presentation skills and ability to deliver project status and updates.
  • Understanding of business value creation and terminology.
  • Knowledge of project methodologies and project management.
  • Ability to provide options and work directly with leadership and project managers.
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment:

Remote Role:

  • This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.

Travel (minor):
  • This position may require the associate to travel up to 25% to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

Office Roles:

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods at a desk or computer terminal.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment during the normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
