Operations Manager - Hilton New York Times Square (Finance)




The Hilton New York Times Square is seeking an Operations Manager to lead their hotel team! Located at the heart of Times Square, this upscale hotel soars 44 stories above Manhattan, offering 478 rooms featuring breathtaking views of Times Square and multiple food and beverage outlets.

This position will be the manager on duty during various shifts (including AM/PM/overnight) and will report to the Director of Operations! The ideal candidate for the role will possess 4-5 years of hotel experience in various departments including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Engineering. Knowledge of the New York Union, Local 6, as well as an affinity for team building and interpersonal skills will be critical to the success of any individual hired into this position.

The Salary Range for this position is $80,000 - 85,000 (final offer based on experience)

What will I be doing?
As Operations Manager, you would be responsible for managing the hotel operations on various Shifts to ensure total guest satisfaction profitability, control costs and maintain standards.Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Distribute/delegate/inspect room and cleaning assignments to Housekeeping Team Members.
  • Encourages a team spirit amongst staff members with leadership and guidance
  • Train and Supervise T eam Members in proper work procedures and techniques in all operating departments. Supervise and monitor work performance of Team Members by conducting room inspections.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff. Assigns and instructs Guest Service, Front Office, Security, Engineering, Front Desk Agents, and Housekeeping staff in the details of work. Observes performance and encourages improvement. Attend various operational related meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.
  • Monitor team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations, providing professional development and delivering recognition and reward.
  • Greets customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome, uses a positive and clear speaking voice, listens to and understands requests, issues, and situations from both guests and T eam M embers.
  • Manages Hotel operations through times of stress, and emergencies, resolves guest concerns, and implements resolutions by using discretion and judgement.
  • Recruit, interview and train team members
  • Act as liaison between hotel and vendors to review and assess latest hotel technology and products related to facility efficiency
